Moda

£116,000 / $147,000

A round piano that looks square.

The idea came from a childhood story about square sweets that looked round.

A simple reversal. A grand piano has always been round in form. The Moda asks what happens if it isn’t.

The answer is the monolithic block. Replacing the traditional three-leg structure with monolithic blocks, incorporating the pedals within the structure itself. Industrial in proportion. Precise in finish. The kind of decision that looks inevitable once made and radical before it.

The body is matte pastel lacquer. The base is liquid metal. The two surfaces sit in deliberate contrast, soft above, cold below, each making the other more itself.

Three curated pairings to start: Purbeck Stone and Liquid Bronze. Graphite Blue and Liquid Brass. Cracked Pepper and Liquid Gunsmoke. Any colour combination available on request.

Every Moda includes a matching stool. Body colour above, liquid metal leather below.

The Moda has one more trick.

When no one is at the keys, it plays. Not a recording. Not a speaker. The hammers move, the strings sound, the music fills the room exactly as it would if someone were seated there. The piano that looks square and plays itself. Nothing about it is quite what it appears.

1,000 pieces included. Expandable to 5,000. Any piece, any artist, recorded exclusively for your piano on commission.

The Moda is made to order. Current lead time three to six months.
