What happens if you remove the traditional three legs from a piano, and instead suspend it from a tower-like frame?

The answer? It floats.

Suspended from the tower, balanced on its lyre and held in equilibrium by two hawser cables – more commonly used in shipping – The Tower is a gravity-defying piece of contemporary design.

The structural engineering becomes part of the form itself. Function and aesthetics intertwined, one indistinguishable from the other.

Inspired by speed

This edition of The Tower was inspired by the supercar.

Leaning into an unapologetically masculine design language, the exterior was finished in matte black, with a gloss red frame and accents and a transparent lid. The palette was conceived with the possibility of being colour-matched to a client’s favourite four-wheeled obsession.

The result was contemporary, confronting and exciting.

The Tower, reimagined

Four years on, with the original design still very much part of the collection, we have reimagined The Tower through a more industrial lens.

Our latest interpretation retains the matte black body and transparent acrylic, while introducing Gunsmoke Liquid Metal across the tower, lyre and supporting side hooks.

The Gunsmoke finish, an elevated version of the raw steel used in construction of the tower itself, brings the structural form to the fore. The perforations, cables and exposed engineering become less automotive and more architectural. The reduction in contrast and introduction of texture shift the emphasis from colour to materiality.

The result is quieter, but no less imposing.

Still futuristic. Still unmistakably sculptural. But with an entirely different attitude.

The original matte black and red Tower is currently available for immediate delivery. The design can also be commissioned in a bespoke palette and selection of finishes.
