New York has always been a city that celebrates reinvention — in art, architecture, music, and design. For Edelweiss Pianos, it was the natural place to begin our American journey.
One year into our presence in New York, we marked the moment not with a traditional recital or showroom launch, but with something more fitting: an immersive celebration of the piano reimagined.
In late December, Edelweiss unveiled The Luna on Manhattan’s Upper East Side at the renowned Opera Gallery on Madison Avenue. The evening was intimate, invite-only, and deliberately unconventional.
Set among some of the world’s most celebrated contemporary artworks, The Luna was presented not simply as a musical instrument, but as a sculptural work of art — a piano designed to be seen, experienced, and felt as much as it is heard.
Guests moved through the gallery as a live jazz pianist performed, while The Luna also played autonomously. For many, it was their first encounter with a piano that exists beyond tradition — where music, art, and design converge into a single sculptural presence.
One year into our presence in New York, we marked the moment not with a traditional recital or showroom launch, but with something more fitting: an immersive celebration of the piano reimagined.
The atmosphere throughout the evening was unmistakable:
quiet awe, moments of stillness, and expressions of genuine surprise.
This is what we call The Edelweiss Experience — taking something deeply familiar and reimagining it into a new form and a new emotional experience. In a piano market long defined by heritage and convention, Edelweiss brings a different perspective: bold, contemporary, and unapologetically design-led.
As a British piano brand entering the American market, New York became the perfect starting point — a city that understands the power of challenging expectations.
The Luna is the latest addition to the Edelweiss Sculptural Collection, inspired by the Moon’s quiet majesty and celestial presence.
Finished in an Ottoman Bronze liquid metal exterior, with a contrasting Starlight Gold white gold leaf interior, The Luna shifts character as light moves across its surface.
Encircling the sound deck, crater-like detailing serves both form and function — diffusing sound while allowing ambient light to spill from within the instrument. Designed by Edelweiss resident artist Goldfinch, The Luna is not static. It evolves with its surroundings, offering a different visual and acoustic experience depending on the space it inhabits.
This is not simply a piano placed in a room — it is a sculptural centerpiece designed to live within architecture, art collections, and contemporary interiors.
