Timbra Kelly Wearstler × Edelweiss

A different question about form.

Kelly Wearstler’s first piano design began not with keys or hammers, but with a different question about form.

The round shape of our Aurora offered a canvas that the conventional instrument does not. An object that could be resolved from every angle. A presence that moves with a room rather than anchoring a wall.

"A piano in the right room doesn't ask to be noticed it just changes everything."

Handbuilt in Cambridge. Designed in Los Angeles.

The form is layered birchwood veneer, sculpted into contours that follow the logic of sound itself. The grain stays visible under every finish giving each instrument its own character.

The compact footprint allows the piano to sit within a room rather than claim one. It reads differently from every angle. Nothing about that is accidental.

Each Timbra is handbuilt in Cambridge. The same team, the same workshops, the same fifty years of restoration knowledge that inform every Aurora. Patented engineering. A sound that sounds bigger than it should. No shortcuts.

The lobby of the Santa Monica Proper.

The original Timbra lives there. It plays for guests whether or not anyone is seated at the keys.

Ambient for an evening, something with more presence as the room fills. One touch on an iPad. The mechanism is completely invisible. Only the music is audible.

COLOUR

Four finishes. One form.

Timbra is available in four finishes, each chosen to reveal the layered veneer in a distinct way.

Dune. Carbon. Linen. Tobacco.

A designed palette, not an open one. Each finish was resolved against the sculpted surface. Each works differently with light.
