Flint. Weathered by time, every edge rounded. Every contour shaped, smoothed and honed into form.  

Then, in an instant, everything changes. 

Flowing forms give way to sharp planes. Smooth surfaces become precise geometry. What was once hidden is suddenly revealed. 

Silex is a study of that moment. 

Its sculptural form captures two opposing states at once. At the rear, broad flowing curves echo the quiet permanence of weathered stone.

Towards the front – like the fractured flint itself – the sculpture changes. Surfaces become faceted. Organic curves become sharp geometry. Silex holds both moments as one. 

No two flint stones can ever be the same.

Nor can any two Silex. 

At the rear: calm.  A liquid metal finish in the deep cold tones of the mineral world. Charcoal, slate, the colours of stone at dusk. A quiet presence, permanent and unhurried. 

And then it breaks. Gold. Sunbaked, Eventide, Moonbeam, or Starlight, each shade cratered, so the surface holds light the way the inside of a geode holds it. Warm where the outside is cold. Alive where the outside is still. 
 
The contrast is not decorative. It’s geological. 

Each Silex is defined by its owner. The form is fixed. The finish is never the same twice.
